My homecoming is November 11. I’m wearing a black chiffon tea-length dress that looks GREAT and is super comfy, but it’ll be cold (around 40 degrees) and I need some kind of coat. What can I wear that is cheap, but looks cute?

How about a black faux fur coat? Maybe even brown or white.

Try a shawl in the same color it looks good and it will look better than a coat. They are warm also

Check with your grandma and see if she has a shawl. Or if you are creative you can go to wal-mart and get a pattern and yarn to make a wrap around.
