Fashion – How to Look Stunning This Party Season!

Author: admin  |  Category: party dress

Whatever the usual excuses you use to get out of attending parties, they won’t work for the party season, after all you’ve had twelve months notice.

Rather than looking for excuses to get out of it let us show you how to look great this party season.

It really is simpler than you think, just follow our simple tips on how to look great this party season you’ll be happy you made the effort.

How to Look Great this Party Season – What Not to Wear.

When it comes to the party season, how to look great can be difficult for a number of reasons, not least the sudden deluge in invites. There is the office party, the family party and socialising with friends.

This could mean anything upwards of three outfits.

Do you opt for one outfit with different accessories hoping you won’t bump into the same people at different events, or do you buy a different outfit for each party?

The biggest mistake most women make is to choose a style that is blatantly not for them.

Just because a dress is in the store does not mean it’s for you.

How to Look Great this Party Season – Things to Remember

Whether choosing clothes so you can look great for the party season, or choosing outfits for any other time of the year, looking great means choosing an outfit that suits you and reflects your sense of style.

It is possible to be fashionable without being a slave to fashion, just remember these golden rules.

• If you want to look great this party season, remember – less is more. Less make up, less jewellery, less everything. Don’t be tempted to wear blue eye shadow with that red party dress just because you’ve worn it everyday for the last twenty years.

Choose a theme and stick to it, if your favourite piece of jewellery doesn’t compliment your chosen outfit, don’t wear it.

• Make sure the outfit you select suits the occasion.

• When selecting a party outfit, make sure you feel comfortable in it.

If you feel uncomfortable in front of your dressing mirror and keep hiking the bust line up or the hem line down, well – draw your own conclusions!

• Make an effort even if you think no one expects you to.

How to Look Great this Party Season – Choosing the Right Outfit

While there is no denying the visual impact of the little black dress, why not be bold this party season and go for something different.

Red is a very popular choice for Christmas and guaranteed to make you stand out in the crowd.

If you’re not ready to be quite so bold, then gold is a rich sumptuous alternative, ideal for creating that sophisticated look.

If you do have to wear the same outfit more than once, you can change the look by choosing different shoes, handbag and accessories to compliment. Throwing a contrasting coloured shawl over your shoulders is also an excellent way to change the look of your outfit.

Don’t forget your lingerie. Nothing lets down a stunning outfit more than ill fitting linger. It’s Christmas, so if necessary, splash out.

Take extra care with your hair and make up, now might be a good time to try out that hair style you’ve been thinking about. And if you’re already at the salon, why not pick up some tips on applying your makeup.

How to Look Great this Party Season – Outerwear

So you’ve got the fabulous outfit. Don’t spoil it by covering it in that old coat you’ve had for years.

When you enter a room with your outdoor wear, this is where you make your first impression. What is that coat going to say about you?

Make an effort with every layer, from your coat, to your dress, right down to your lingerie. Make sure your partner knows you look as good out of your dress as you do in it!

How To Choose The Perfect Wedding Gown?

Author: admin  |  Category: evening gowns

There is a dizzying array of choices before a would-be bride, while she is out for shopping. Choosing the right type of wedding dress is as difficult as giving an exam. On that special day you need to stand out with a perfect attire, just the right mix of everything, beauty and elegance. Here are some factors that will help you choose the perfect wedding gown as per the theme of your wedding party.

1.To sort out the best gown for your special day, you need to have the basic understanding of the formality of your wedding. This factor greatly determines the basic style of wedding gown. Besides, there are some other factors to it too. The wedding season and time of the day essentially influences this decision.

2.Broadly, weddings are classified into the flexible categories of formal daytime or evening, semi-formal and lastly as informal. So this classification should be kept in mind before making a choice about the wedding dress.

Of all the above classification, the most elaborate one is the formal evening weddings. So your wedding gown should be formal as well. To make a mark in such formal gatherings, heavy satins, shantung and peau de soie, with trims and beautiful laces should be used. The trail and the veil for an evening wedding gown can be longer as usual.

3.You should choose a formal gown which is light weighted, if you have a daytime formal wedding. And in winters it should be warm. A short sleeved gown with gloves looks perfect for such a kind of wedding. The most preferred fabrics for a daytime wedding are taffeta or the light-weighted shantung. The trail of the gown will be shorter, which can be of chapel length, that is three to five feet. The veil can be of floor length.

4.In the semi formal weddings, which may be of daytime or evening, the bridal gown should be less elaborate than the other formal gowns. Fabric such as chiffon is an ideal one. Such gowns do not feature much beadings or lace. The trail attached to them are sweeping. The veil of the gown should be shoulder to fingertip.

5.If you are having an informal wedding, your gown can be a short dress. Such gowns are hemmed from your knee to the length of your mid-calf. Due to this makeover, you get a look of a cocktail party. To make them more elegant, they have a lace trim or a beading.

6.The kinds of fabrics that are generally used include satin, beaded chiffon or shantung. Veils are not usually worn with informal wedding gowns. Instead flowers in the brides hands or a hat on the head is proffered.

7.Besides them, the wedding gowns feature ball gown skirts. This dress is held with the help of crinolines or sheaths.

Fashion is never static. With time and season it keeps on changing. So is true with the attire of a bride. A bride’s dress largely depends on the type and time of her wedding. So before making a final choice of your wedding gown, go out and look for the options and may you find a wedding gown of your dreams.

Budgeting Tips for a Christmas Wedding

Author: admin  |  Category: cheap cocktail dress

Your wedding dress:
Start shopping right away. You won’t feel rushed or pressured into buying something and you’ll be able to shop smart.

Simple plain dresses are usually less expensive than the ones with lace, pearls/beads etc..

You could buy a plain dress and add lace, beads etc.. yourself. Or get someone to do it for you.

Rent or borrow a dress. If you like your mother`s, sister`s or friends dress ask them if you could borrow it. But don`t be offended if they refuse as a wedding dress is very sacred to most women.

Look around second hand shops/charity shops. You`ll be surprised at the amount they get given, and they are usually inexpensive.

The venue:
Book the ceremony/reception well in advance you may be able to negotiate a better price then you would if you left it to the last minute.

Have your wedding on off-peak months. November to April rates will probably be reduced. Christmas weddings are more expensive though so if you are planning a Christmas wedding you will have to cut your finances.

Instead of a grand ballroom or banquet hall, think less-expensive venues, like publicly owned buildings and parks, registry office, the church or temple hall, the backyard, the beach, a restaurant’s private room. You may have to get a permit to marry in a public place, but it will be less than a private banquet room.

Catering:
Look around for caterers. Get different quotes before you decide on one.

Choose cheaper entrees, like prawns instead of lobster, vegetables like broccoli instead of asparagus will cut the cost, too.

Cut down on courses. If you’re having a cocktail hour, do you really need an appetizer course? Do you need soup and salad?

Instead of waiter service, have a buffet bar.

Think ethnic! Mexican, Indian, Italian, or Chinese food is fun and much cheaper per person than the traditional wedding menu. See if your favorite restaurant caters.

If you are having a themed wedding create your menu around the theme.

Have the wedding cake only as dessert and eliminate any other sweets (eclairs, pastries, etc.).

Consider a wedding breakfast or brunch (omelettes, muffins, pancakes, French toast), or a tea (a variety of tea flavors, finger sandwiches, scones and jams, etc.) to save money.

The more tiers and decorations your cake has the more expensive it will be.

Buy your own drink it will work out a lot cheaper than paying the caterers or venues prices.

Photos:
Compare hourly fees and package deals to see which is more cost-effective for you.

Give disposable cameras as wedding favours. Then you can get copies of the day’s events from family and friends.

Have a professional photographer take the formal pictures and shoot the ceremony; have guests take all reception photos.

Visit your local college`s photography department and check out some of the students’ portfolios. They will do your photography a lot cheaper and just as good as a professional

Ask friends and family to video the big day for you.

Flowers:
Use flowers that are in season and/or locally grown they’re less expensive than out-of-season flowers that must be shipped to your area.

Have bouquet with just a few large flowers, like orchids, tulips, lilies, or sunflowers, tied with a ribbon.

If you are marrying at Christmas or Easter, your church may already be decked out beautifully.

Arrange to share the cost of ceremony decorations with the couple marrying directly before or after you that day.

Use silk or dried flowers instead of fresh ones in table centerpieces.

Music:
DJs are less expensive than live bands.

Ask a family member or friend’s child to sing at the reception.

Hire music for the evening reception only. People are usually too busy chatting to notice anyway.

Ask at the local college/university for young musicians.

Invitations:
Send invitations that are light enough when completely assembled to require only a single stamp for mailing.

Make your own invitation cards. They are cheaper and more personal.

If you are having a themed wedding make cards to do with the theme.

Transportation:
Limousines are cheap enough to hire for an hour. Find out in advance how long the ceremony will take.

Only hire a limo for the bride and groom; have attendants driven in relatives’ cars, or have them drive themselves in groups.

You might be able to hire a horse and carriage for just as less. Check the Yellow pages for any in your area.

We hope these are of some use to you. Good luck.

Holiday Maternity Dresses: Look Sexy During Your Pregnancy!

Author: admin  |  Category: buy cocktail dress

October is already underway and Holiday Season is fast approaching with Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner. For many of us who are expecting, the holidays means finding a holiday dress for a number of social occasions. In addition to family and friend get-togethers, many of us also have holiday office parties to attend which may require a more formal dress. So, whether your maternity dress needs are casual, slightly upscale or formal, now is the time to start looking before it is too late! Here are few suggestions in your quest for the perfect maternity dress for the holidays:

Unless you are shopping for a full out formal affair, it is easy to find a maternity dress that is super versatile for not only Thanksgiving and Christmas parties for other outings as well. The wrap maternity dress style is the perfect bridge from a nice dinner out to holiday party. Solids are a good choice in shopping for a maternity dress you plan to wear more than once as it is not quite as memorable as a print – especially if you might run into the same people on more than one occasion. Burgundy is a popular color out this holiday season and definitely suits the occasion from Thanksgiving to Christmas to even a classic office dress or nice day-wear outfit. Wrap dresses are one of the best body styles on the market for expecting women as they are so easy to wear, flattering to many body types and adjustable to your changing shape. Both Japanese Weekend and Maternal America (check out their Front Tie Keyhole Maternity Dress) have some super wrap and sash tie dresses out this season in burgundy, ruby and black.

If patterns are more your style, look for a print that does not say “holiday” all over it but can be worn throughout the season for a variety of venues. The Maternal America Beaded Safari Dress is based upon their bestselling style from last Fall/Winter which was a hit during the holidays. This year’s style is a one of a kind earth print with a beautiful blend of safari earthy colors brought together in the front with attractive ruching with a centerpiece of chunky beading in earth colors. This dress can be worn for a formal occasion or a dinner out with friends. The colors are great for Fall, Winter, and even Spring with ¾ sleeves and light stretchy fabric. The Safari dress stretchy front ruching style plays up your curves and shows off all the best about your ever changing maternity shape.

If you have a truly dressy occasion to attend then your best option is maternity formalwear. Black is always a great choice and of course slimming and sexy for all body types and skin tones. There are a variety of styles that work very well in maternity formal dresses. Showing a little skin up top in either the sleeveless bodice or tube dress is always flattering. If you feel more comfortable with straps you can opt for a sleeveless or strappy dress to show a little shoulder or a deep V neck variety with short sleeves to show off your enhanced cleavage!

This season the full length formal dresses are very much in style on the red carpet and always a flattering and easy to fit style for expecting women. Particularly if you are further along in your pregnancy, a full length maternity gown gives some balance to a large blooming belly so the eye sees you in your entire dress from head to toe and your belly is not the sole target focus of everyone’s attention. Olian Maternity has a number of beautiful and classic full length formal styles in formal dresses including the Kora Maternity Evening Dress, which is a pretty black sleeveless style, and an elegant Black Sash Evening Dress in Black with a contrasting cream Sash and neckline accent.

If you opt to show off a little leg, then a black cocktail maternity dress style is always a great bet for the Holidays and any formal or dressy occasion. Olian Maternity has a number of great styles for choose from in sexy black cocktail dresses including the Beaded Neck Cocktail Dress with a high circle neck style in beautiful beading and elegant draping pleats which hits above the knee. Olian also has a tighter fitting Silk Bodice Dress that is fitted across the bust in a silk satin finish and bra friendly. Both of these cocktail maternity dresses are sexy, classic and stunning, particularly if you can still safely pull off a black heel to complete the look!

Some great choices for other sleeveless varieties in the burgundy-maroon color family for above the knee dresses include Maternal America’s Tulle Dress. This was another style which was a bestseller last holiday season in an espresso color and has returned this year in a stunning maroon color as well as a black variety. This dress has a pleated Grecian feel with a V neck leather empire waist accent that hits above the belly. The design and cut work well for all stages of your pregnancy and there is plenty of room in the belly and bust with no tenting or excess fabric. For a super buy, check out Theality’s Party Dress which is a simple tube style with bra friendly straps and fitted across the bust. This easy to wear and versatile cocktail party dress is available in both burgundy and black solid.

So whether you are looking for full out formal or versatile knee length maternity dresses for the Holidays, your best bet is to shop as early as possible. To get the most wear out of your holiday maternity dress, look for styles with enough belly room and stretch to last you a number of months and colors or prints that can also be worn for other occasions. If it’s chilly, just add a wrap and you are good to go!

Where can I buy a Kids style party dress?

Author: admin  |  Category: party dress

Im throwing a kids style party for my 21st with pass the parcel etc!
Im trying to find a kids style party dress, so lots of bows and really puffy etc, pink or purple would be good.
Iv looked on ebay and cant find anything,
Any ideas?

I've just checked Ebay also, but didn't find anything much.
How about searching car boot sales and charity shops?
If not, you could always buy a nice pink/purple dress from a fashionable shop, such as Topshop or River Island and such, then buy some big bows separately and stitch them on. You can also buy a sheet of fabric / silk and make puffy sleeves to attach to the dress, if required. I'm sure these are available to buy if you search around the internet.
You can them take the bows off after you've worn it at the party, and the dress will also be stylish enough to wear another time, rather than just wearing it once and ending up at the back of your wardrobe.
Just a suggestion. :)

where is a good place to find affordable maternity evening gowns?

Author: admin  |  Category: evening gowns

I have a black tie event to go to next month and I need to find a nice evening gown to wear but I don't want to spend a lot of money since I'll probably only wear it once. I don't even know where to begin to look for something like that.

im not sure what size you are, but check some of the places you would shop even if you werent pregnant. Just pick out empire-waisted styles that get fuller from just under the bust, and go up however many sizes from your usual. If anything, the bust and shoulder area might end up being a little big, in which case you could take it to a seamstress to have that portion altered. You will probably save money going this route, as nice "maternity" clothes cost an arm & a leg. I'll post some examples of normal dresses that would look cute over a baby-bulge…

http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=294099&CategoryID=35177&LinkType=EverGreen – $118

http://www.edressme.com/c4437.html – $90

or check if anything is on sale in the nicer maternity brands….

What is the difference between a cocktail dress and formal dress?

Author: admin  |  Category: cocktail dress

I need a cocktail dress in a solid red or white. I went to Macy's to find one and I had no clue what I should have been looking for. What do cocktail dresses actually look like? Are they like casual/semi-formal sun dresses or formal dresses with a different look? Can it be long? I look better in longer dresses (Chicken legs)…

Occasion, Miss Los Angeles County Pageant…
The Opening Act… :o )

Cocktail dresses are typically dressy to semi-formal, and shorter in length. You can go for a long dress if you have "chicken legs" (hahaha), but make sure it's really simple and elegant, no sequins or heavy embroidery (which is overdone anyway). Sun dresses are NOT cocktail dresses, unless you're going to a barbeque below the Mason-Dixon line. Good thing you're not.
Neiman Marcus' website has their evening dresses categorized very well, and so does Bergdorf-Goodman. Whether or not you can afford it, you can always go look at their websites and check out what they consider cocktail dresses and compare them to what you found at Macy*s (who also has a fabulous dress selection). Good luck shopping!!

Cheap cocktail dress for a Bat Mitzvah?

Author: admin  |  Category: cheap cocktail dress

I need a cheap cocktail dress that I can get in a few days over the internet – the Bat Mitzvah is on the 14th and I need a dress… quick. I'm only 13 years old too, so nothing that shows too much. It'd be nice if you posted places where I could look at where the shipping doesn't take forever. I need it in at least four days.

Have you tried going to a local consignment shop? Yes, the dresses are used but a $200 dress can cost probably $50 at the most.
Also, have you googled it?
You can also try department stores as they're getting rid of the prom dresses. If something isn't your size go to a tailor and have them fix it up. If it's a higher class department store they usually do alterations there.

Where is the best place in Florida to buy a simple Cocktail dress?

Author: admin  |  Category: buy cocktail dress

Im looking for a cocktail dress to wear on a cruise ship.
a simple and pretty plain one with nice straps
not to low cut
V- Neck though.
in either black, purple or dark blue.

Im a size 4 or a Small ( well actually a medium, but i have no boobs so small works for me)

Where can i find one similar to the criteria?

PLEASE AN THANKYOUS! X

I live in Florida and know that different cities have different stores. Bealls is nice, but Penney's or Sears might have what you want. you have to go to the stores to find the dress you want since I don't know which city.
